Freda's Thoughts "Being a Potato Head!"

Freda's family worked together on planting and harvesting.  That was pretty much a way of life, during the Great Depression.  She was given a great opportunity, as her family trusted her with a portion of the work.
Good work ethics can be learned at any age; but if you begin early, you'll enjoy a lifetime of satisfaction in whatever you do.
Children should always be supervised, to make certain they are doing the task properly and safely.  They should be given encouragement and constructive criticism.  They should also have the incentive of a reward as a goal.
When you enjoy a job, you will probably make a better effort at it.
If you learn how to do your best, the reward is in the doing; all else added to that is a serendipity!
It has been said, that "Good hard work, never hurt anyone!"  That is usually true!

Freda wanted me to let you know, that they planted their crops on plots of about 1/2 acre each.  They grew them in manner known as "drought farming"; where you'd let the crops grow on their own, without regular watering or much attention.  They would have to mound the dirt up around each plant, as you should do for potatoes.  When the harvest time came, they would all work together to get the crop in.  There is an old saying, "Many hands, make light the work".  It is still true today, if we implement it!

Freda's Thoughts "Snow Storm"

This week we had our first measurable snowfall for the year.  It wasn't much more than about a half inch.  Where I grew up, you wouldn't have counted that little of snow!  I, like Freda, finally had enough of those big snows; and that is why I'm living where I am now.  But, I can only imagine having three feet of snow on the ground all winter, as Freda describes here!
If you would, please leave your comments on Freda's post to encourage her. Thanks!

(Sorry about the writing error: it should have said, "At least we had plenty of that!")

Freda's Thoughts "Winter"

I'm not sure, is this Freda's post for the last day of 2015 or the first for 2016?  Either way, please reward her with a comment. Thanks.  The Old Man in the Bib Overalls

Freda's Thoughts "Jesus' birthday"

"You probably can't read it in the picture, but there is a small pin on the hat that says, "Jesus is the Reason for the Season".  Without Jesus there would be no reason for any season!  Everything in the world changed on the day He was born!  But so many still don't know Him personally.  It is up to us who know Him, to share the news of His birth!  It is never too late to give your heart to Him; but if you don't do that, it is too late for you! May God bless us all this Christmas Day!"
I agree with Freda - don't put it off, make today your day to be reconciled with God! May everything change in your world, by making Jesus your personal Savior!
